8 Days Flying Safari to Katavi and Mahale

Safari Highlights
A 7-night flying luxury safari starting from Arusha. The tour  visits the remote Katavi National Park where you will stay at the Katuma Bush Lodge , and the stunning Mahale Mountains, home to Chimpanzees where you are able to track chimpanzees in the forest.

Safari Program - 7 Nights Chimpazee and Wildlife - Katavi and Mahale

Day 1 (Thursday) - Flight from Arusha to Katavi National Park
This morning take a flight from Arusha to Katavi National Park Depart Arusha on a shared Charter to Katavi (Zantas Air departing at 8:00am and arriving at approx 13:00pm). Met at the airstrip and transfer to Katuma Bush Lodge. Settle into your tents, lunch and then take an afternoon game drive in the park. Overnight Katuma Bush Lodge.

Day 2 (Friday) - Day in Katavi National Park
Katavi National Park Awake to the sounds of the local bird life, breakfast and then proceed for a full day game drive in the expansive Katavi National Park, renowned for some of the largest concentrations of buffalo in Africa. Overnight Katuma Bush Lodge.

Day 3 (Saturday) - Day in Katavi National Park
Katavi National Park Enjoy another full day in Katavi with game drives to the pools breaming with hippo and crocodile and on the lookout for the big cats. Overnight Katuma Bush Lodge.

Day 4 (Sunday) - Day in Katavi National Park
Katavi National Park Enjoy another day in Katavi, falling into Africa's rhythm and pace. Overnight Katuma Bush Lodge.

Day 5 (Monday) - Flight from Katavi Park to Mahale Mountains National Park
Katavi National Park / Mahale Mountains National Park Breakfast at the Lodge and then transfer to the airstrip with packed lunch boxes for the 11.50am charter to Mahale, arriving at 12.50. Met at the airstrip and transfer to the lodge by boat. In the afternoon take short Chimpanzee track in the pristine forest. Dinner and enjoy the bonfire on the beach. Overnight Kungwe Beach Lodge.

Day 6 (Tuesday) - Day in Mahale Mountains Park
Mahale Mountains National Park Breakfast and then leave at 08.00 am for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, relax at the lodge, walk along the beach or take a bird watching boat safari. Overnight Kungwe Beach Lodge.

Day 7 (Wednesday) - Day in Mahale Mountains Park
Mahale Mountains National Park Breakfast and then leave at 08.00 am for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, relax at the lodge, walk along the beach or go out fishing in Lake Tanganyika. Dinner and bonfire at the lodge. Overnight Kungwe Beach lodge.

Day 8 (Thursday) - Flight from Mahale Park to Arusha. Depart
Mahale Mountains National Park / Arusha Breakfast and then take the morning to relax on the beach. Then at 12.00 transfer to the airstrip by boat with a packed lunch. (Zantas Air departing at 8:00am and arriving at approx 13:00pm).
