Day 1: Flight from Nairobi to Samburu/Shaba
After breakfast from your hotel, pick up by Hallmark Travel Planners guide. Transfer to Wilson airport for the flight that departs at 0915 hours. You arrive Samburu airstrip at 1030 hours. You are picked from the airstrip by representative from Hallmark Travel Planners. With a brief game drive, you head for the lodge for lunch. After lunch relax till 1630 hours, time for a game run till dusk.

Samburu game reserve, buffalo springs and Shaba game reserve together cover a total of 428 sq. km. With the same faunal structure, the 3 wildlife reserves, lie just within the fascinating semi-desert Northern Frontier District of Kenya.

The tranquil Uaso Nyiro River, flowing through Shaba and Samburu, attract a wide number of rare wildlife and provides a natural habitat for crocodile. Long necked gerenuk, Grevy´s zebra and reticulated giraffe are species not found in the less arid areas to the south. Elephant seek solace and contentment in the shallow waters of this wide sauntering river, fringed with acacia, down palms and tamarind, which together with Buffalo Springs, support a large variety of african mammals, cheetah and leopard being particularly well represented. Doves and guinea fowl abound and the giant Martial Eagle perched on some high vantage point. The past volcanic intensity of the area is demonstrated by the formidable lava flow at the southern end of Shaba (its name comes from a cone of volcanic rock).

With a magnificent background of jagged, purple mountains, a safari in these small gems in the wildlife wilderness, will provide some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge.

Day 2: Day in Samburu
At 0630 hours, wake up call followed by coffee. Then you proceed on a game drive till time for breakfast, usually around 0830 hours. After breakfast, you may go on another game drive or just relax by the pool. At 1630 hours, the afternoon game drive departs running till sunset. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Simba.

Day 3: Game drive - Flight Samburu to Nairobi
At 0630 hours, wake up call followed by coffee. Then you proceed on a game drive till time for breakfast, usually around 0830 hours. After breakfast, check out of the rooms. With your luggage packed, drive to the airstrip with a brief game drive. The flight back to Nairobi departs at 1110 hours to arrive Nairobi at around 1215 hours. Transfer to your hotel in Nairobi, or to the airport for flight.
