Routing: Nairobi - Mt Meru - Samburu - Masai Mara - Nairobi

Day 1: Flight from Nairobi to Meru National park
Pick up from your hotel after breakfast and transfer to Wilson Airport for the flight to Meru National park. The flight departs at 0915 hours to arrive Meru airstrip at 1035 hours. On arrival, you are met by Hallmark Travel Planners guide. With a brief game run, you drive to the lodge to check in. Lunch at the lodge. Afternoon relax at the lodge till late afternoon, 1630 hours, time for game drive till sunset.

Kenya’s Meru National Park was made famous by the writings of Joy Adamson, most noted for her book Born Free, the true story of Elsa, the lioness, and her return into the wild.  The park lies in the north-eastern lowlands below the Nyambeni hills. Meru forms part of a larger wilderness area along the Tana River, including Bisanadi and Mwingi National Reserves, Kora national park and Rahole national reserve.

The wetter north-western sector is hilly, with rich volcanic soils. Numerous permanent streams cross this are, and three large rivers straddle the reserve: the Tana River to the south, the Ura River to the south-west and the Rojeweru River to the east. Rain falls from Mar-May and from Nov-Dec. Game viewing is best in the dry months. Dinner at Elsa's Kopje  Lodge.

Day 2: Day in Meru National park
Early morning game drive from 0630hours till 0830 hours. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Further game drive till lunch time. After lunch, afternoon is free till 1630 hours when you go on a game drive till sundown. Dinner and overnight at Elsa's Kopje Lodge.

Day 3: Flight from Meru National park to Samburu
Early morning game drive. Breakfast. After breakfast, check out of the lodge and transfer to the airstrip. The flight to Samburu Game reserve departs at 1035 hours to arrive Samburu 1100 hours.

You are picked from the airstrip by representative from Hallmark Travel Planners. With a brief game drive, you head for the lodge for lunch. After lunch relax till 1630 hours, time for a game run till dusk.

Samburu game reserve, buffalo springs and Shaba game reserve together cover a total of 428 sq. km. With the same faunal structure, the 3 wildlife reserves, lie just within the fascinating semi-desert Northern Frontier District of Kenya.

With a magnificent background of jagged, purple mountains, a safari in these small gems in the wildlife wilderness, will provide some of the best and most colorful game viewing in the country. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or Samburu Intrepids Club.

Day 4: Day in Samburu
At 0630 hours, wake up call followed by coffee. Then you proceed on a game drive till time for breakfast, usually around 0830 hours. After breakfast, you may go on another game drive or just relax by the pool. At 1630 hours, the afternoon game drive departs running till sunset. Dinner and overnight at Samburu Serena Lodge or Samburu Intrepids Club.

Day 5: Flight Samburu to Maasai Mara
After breakfast, check out of the rooms. With your luggage packed, drive to the airstrip with a brief game drive. The flight back to Massai departs at 0915 hours to arrive Maasai Mara at around 1045 hours. Pick up by the lodge or camp vehicle and transfer to the lodge.  Lunch at the hotel. Relax at the lodge or camp till 1630 hours when you proceed on a game drive till sunset.

Situated in the heart of the Great Rift Valley, with an area of 1,812 sq. km, limited to the East by the Talek river and Loita plains, Masai Mara, Kenya´s leading Game Reserve, lies on the border between Kenya and Tanzania and is the northern extension to the renowned Serengeti plain.

Over a million wildebeest, more than two hundred thousand zebra with their attendant predators cross the Mara River and spread across the plains in a seemingly endless procession. Dinner and overnight at your hotel – Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Intrepids Club.

Day 6: Day in Maasai Mara
Early morning game drive starting at 0630 hours. Return to the camp for breakfast. Relax at the lodge till lunch time. At 1630 hours proceed for a game drive in the park till sunset. Dinner and overnight at your hotel – Mara Serena Lodge or Mara Intrepids Club.

Day 7: Game Drive – Flight Maasai Mara to Nairobi
Early morning game drive beginning at 0630 hours. Return to the lodge or camp for breakfast. Further game drive in the Mara till lunchtime. Lunch at the lodge or camp. After lunch, check out of the hotel and depart with a game drive towards the airstrip.

Depart on the afternoon flight from Maasai Mara back to Wilson Airport. On arrival, pick up and transfer either to your hotel or to the airport for your home-bound flight.
