Experience the mighty Victoria Falls on foot - a guided tour through the rain forest where you will be able to view the cataracts. Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. Amongst the must-do activities lined up is, taking a helicopter flight or a balloon trip over the falls, elephant back safari in the African bush, or white water rafting, among others. At Chobe, you enjoy game activities in Chobe National Park and a river cruise on the Chobe River to meet with the hippos. One of the parks biggest attractions is the annual zebra migration. It also boasts one of the largest elephant populations in Africa.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Livingstone or Victoria Falls
Depart Johannesburg mid-morning for your flight to Livingstone in Zambia. On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. The falls are best seen from the air, thus activities such as helicopter flights, balloon rides and micro-lighting over the falls are a must do. Other exciting activities available river safaris, elephant back safaris and many more. The Victoria Falls National Park and Zambezi National Park provide a home for big game such as elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffe, antelopes, and baboons amongst others. Overnight at the Zambezi Sun Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 2: Guided Tour around Victoria Falls
After breakfast you will be taken on a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls that will take you through the rain forest where you are able to view the Cataracts. Enjoy a visit to the local craft market, plus a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Overnight at the Zambezi Sun Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis
Day 3: Depart Victoria Falls for Chobe National Park
After breakfast transfer across the Botswana border to Chobe - approximately 1 hour 30 minutes by road to a lodge of your choice. Chobe National Park is named after the Chobe River. It is the second largest national park in Botswana and is home to a large animal population and over 450 bird species. One of its biggest attractions is the annual zebra migration. It also boasts one of the largest elephant populations in Africa. The elephants are migratory and move from the Chobe and Linyati rivers where they concentrate during the dry seasons, to the pans in the southeast section of the park where they disperse during the rains. These elephants are said to have the distinction of being the largest in body size of all living elephants. Their ivory though is brittle and you won’t spot any large tusks on them. The most popular area is the stretch of the Chobe River from Kasane town to Serondela campsite. Hundreds of hippos and crocodiles gather here. Game viewing is best during the dry season, April to October when the majority of natural pans have dried up. Animals however are present year round. Overnight at Chobe Game Lodge
Day 4: Day in Chobe National Park
Experience an early morning and late afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park. Optional: Water safari on the Chobe River. Overnight at a game lodge full board and 2 game activities. Overnight at Chobe Game Lodge
Day 5: Leave Chobe National Park - Depart
Early morning game activity in the Chobe National Park. Mid-morning you will be transferred to Victoria Falls for your onward flight to Johannesburg and flight back home.
