10 Days Tanzania and Uganda Safari
Route in Tanzania: Arusha - Lake Manyara - Serengeti - Ngorongoro - Arusha.
Route in Uganda: Entebbe - Bwindi - Mbarara - Entebbe
Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, pick up by Hallmark Travel Planners representative. You transfer to Impala hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Drive from Arusha to Lake Manyara
Breakfast at the hotel in Arusha. After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National park. Enjoy game drive in the Lake National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Lunch at the lodge. Further game drive in the lodge till sunset. Dinner and overnight at the Manyara Serena lodge or similar.
Day 3: Drive Lake Manyara to Serengeti
After an early breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. Stop over at the Ol Duvai Gorge for a visit. Proceed to Serengeti to arrive in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon game viewing in the endless plains of the Serengeti for a chance to see the great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelles or a pride of lions lounging in the shade. Return to Serengeti Serena lodge or similar for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Day in Serengeti
Depart for an early morning game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast. Mid morning, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 metres) to the floor of the crater for a half day crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Dinner and overnight at the Serengeti Serena lodge or similar.
Day 5: Drive from Serengeti to Tarangire National park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon of game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lion and gerenuk can be found in this beautiful park, noted for its multitude of baobab trees and its tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at the Tarangire Sopa lodge or similar.
Day 6: Game-viewing in Tarangire. Drive back to Arusha Town – Flight to Entebbe
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Breakfast at the lodge, followed by the drive back to Arusha with game viewing en route. Lunch in Arusha town. Transfer to the airport for flight to Entebbe.
Arrive at Entebbe International airport. Meet, greet and transfer to Imperial Resort Beach Hotel for overnight (BB).
Day 7: Drive to Bwindi
Drive on the southbound road; passing charming attractions en route: look at royal drum makers, enjoy the Equator, stop at the roadside markets to enjoy some fruit and vegetables. Lunch en route. Continue to Buhoma in the thick, impenetrable Bwindi Forest via Kabale. Arrive late afternoon. [Approximate driving time: 9 hours] O/N: Bwindi Tented Camp or Buhoma Homestead (FB).
Day 8: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Go gorilla tracking (subject to availability of gorilla permits at time of booking), carrying a packed lunch. You will be accompanied by a guide and porters. You will then set off to the thick forest in search of gorillas. The terrain can be difficult, with steep slopes covered in dense vegetation that gives the park its name. Dinner and Bwindi Tented Camp or Buhoma Homestead (FB).
Day 9: Drive Bwindi to Mbarara
Start for Mbarara, enjoying natural attractions en route. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s most conspicuous park, with zebra, leopard, hippo, antelope and many birds. Lunch on arrival. Boat trip on Lake Mburo. Time permitting, an evening game drive. [Approximate driving time: 5 hours] O/N: Mantana Mburo Camp (FB).
Day 10: Drive Mbarara to Entebbe or Kampala -approx. 5 hours
After breakfast, drive to Kampala arriving early afternoon and transfer to Entebbe airport for your flight
