Routing: Cairo-Aswan-Kom-Ombo-Edfu-Luxor-Cairo.

On this 12 day tour, you get to sample the best of modern Egypt and ancient Egypt. From the Egyptian Museum where you will see a huge collection of Egypt’s past to the Pyramids of Giza – one of the 7 Wonders of the ancient world. Enjoy the Nile cruise as you sail while at the same time visiting some of the famed monuments spread between the towns of Aswan and Luxor. You then head to Hurghada, on Egypt’s Red Sea. The area has good beaches, great coral reefs and some golfing too.



Day 1: Arrival Egypt - Cairo
When you arrive at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by Hallmark Travel Planners representative. After the customs and immigration procedures, transfer by air-conditioned coach to your hotel for check in. Overnight in your Hotel in Cairo

Day 2: Day in Cairo – Tours of Pyramids of Giza and the Museum
After breakfast at the hotel, you meet with the day's tour guide. Begin the tour, that takes you to visit the Egyptian Museum and, then the Pyramids of Giza, where you will also see the Sphinx - one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You may enjoy a camel ride round the Pyramids as you contemplate the achievements of Ancient Egypt. Later, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at your Hotel in Cairo.

Day 3: Train Cairo to Aswan
You have your breakfast at the hotel. For morning and afternoon, you will be free at leisure. In the evening you transfer to take the Sleeper Train to Aswan. Dinner & overnight on board Sleeper Train.

Day 4: Sail from Aswan to Kom-Ombo
Breakfast will be served onboard Sleeper Train. On arrival Aswan transfer to your Nile cruise liner. After lunch on board, get introduced to your guide.

In the afternoon, you visit the Aswan High Dam, the Old Dam, and the Temple of Philae. The Philae Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis, an important figure in Egyptian mythology. Thereafter sail to Kom-Ombo. After dinner, you may enjoy dance music. Dinner & overnight on board Nile Cruise.

Day 5: Sail from Kom Ombo to Edfu
After breakfast, you visit the Temple of Kom Ombo. The Graeco-Roman Temple at Kom Ombo consists of 2 separate temples, each with its own entrance, colonnades, hypostyle hall and sanctuary. The southern temple is dedicated to Sobek - the crocodile god, while the northern one honors Horus - the falcon god.

After this tour, sail on to Edfu while enjoying your afternoon tea. After an oriental dinner, you will enjoy a Galabiya and costume party. Dinner & overnight on board Nile Cruise.

Day 6: Sail from Edfu to Esna to Luxor
After breakfast, you will visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Edfu was the cult centre of Horus the falcon god. It is perhaps the best preserved of ancient temples of Egypt. Two majestic granite falcons adorn the entrance and some of the walls bear reliefs depicting Horus. Sail to Esna while having lunch on board. And then further to Luxor. Dinner & overnight onboard Nile Cruise.

Day 7: Drive from Luxor to Hurghada
After breakfast, visit the West Bank Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon.

Luxor is the highlight of the cruise. The range, magnificence and diversity of the monuments in the Luxor area is unsurpassed in all of Egypt. The Valley of Kings is where the rulers of the period historians refer to as the New Kingdom period (BC 1550-1070) awaited the afterlife. Over 60 tombs have so far been excavated in the valley. Among the best tombs to visit are those of Ramses I, Tuthmosis III and Ramses VI. Tutankhamun's is the most famous today.

On the other side of the Valley of Kings is the Temple of Deir el-Bahri, built by Queen Hatshepsut. The temple is very impressive from a distance and is a great place to take photos. Take more photos at the Colossi of Memnon -two huge statues that are the sole legacy of the temple of Amenhotep III. You thereafter disembark and transfer by air-conditioned coach to Hurghada on the Red Sea. Dinner & overnight at your hotel in Hurghada.

Day 8 & 9: Days in Hurghada

Hurghada is a resort on Egypt's Red Sea. The Red Sea is so named because of the red tint of its mountain ranges. The underwater world of the Red Sea is alive with over 800 fish species and the deep-sea fishing is excellent. Snorkellers can explore the coral reef that is reputed to be one of the finest in the world. The area has good beaches, coral reefs and some golfing too. Dinner & overnight at your hotel in Hurghada.

Day 10: Drive from Hurghada to Cairo

After breakfast, you transfer by air-conditioned coach and begin the drive to Cairo. On arrival at Cairo, transfer to your hotel for overnight in Cairo. Overnight in your Hotel in Cairo

Day 11: Day in Cairo
You have your breakfast at the hotel. You spend the rest of the day at leisure in Cairo. This would be a good time to do some shopping or take a day trip to see some attractions in the greater Cairo area. Overnight in your Hotel in Cairo.

Day 12: Depart Cairo
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight back home.
