Katavi National Park - Tanzania

This is the third largest park in Tanzania located about 40 km south-east of the town of Mpanda. The park covers approximately 4500 sq km and is well known for its Miombo woodland.
Getting to Katavi National Park:
By air from Arusha or Dar es Salaam. Or a day’s drive from Mbeya or, in the dry season Kigoma.
Attractions at Katavi National Park
The park is home to Buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, zebra and other antelope species like eland, impala, topi, roan, and sable.
Water fowl are abundant in Lake Chala particularly rich in bird-life with over 400 species recorded. Kitavi also boasts Tanzania’s greatest concentration of hippo and crocodile.
