Health
All visitors from countries infected with cholera and yellow fever must produce international certificates of vaccination at the entry point. Visitors are advised to take anti malaria prophylactics. Travel Insurance is advised but not compulsory.

Immigration
Visas are required for most visitors except citizens of certain commonwealth countries. Before departure, you can obtain a visa from the local Tanzanian Embassy or High Commissions. This is because some airlines insist on them prior to departure. You can also get a visa at one of the major entry points such as : Namanga, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, Tundoma, Taveta and Horohoro.

International Travel
Tanzania is served by several international airlines such as British Airways, Gulf Air, Egypt Air, Kenya Airways, Royal Dutch Airlines and Emirates. The country has 3 international airports: Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro International in Arusha. International Airport departure of USD 30 is currently levied .

Local Travel
The country has a good but scanty road network. Most of the major towns are connected by road and several bus services operate between the towns. Driving in Tanzania is on the left. Scheduled rail connections between the major towns are available.

Tanzania captures the very essence of the Africa continent and distills it into one of natural riches and cultural wealth. A country of superlatives, Tanzania is home to Africas highest mountain, deepest lake, beautiful beaches, fertile coral reefs, primate rich virgin tropical rainforests and rolling savannah. Home to some of Africa’s best national parks such as the spectacular Serengeti, the vast and virgin Selous and the magical Ngorongoro Crater. Wildebeest migration in the Serengeti is a must see. With over 120 distinct ethnic groups, the country is virtually a cultural melting pot. Welcome to Tanzania “ the land of Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar”.

Climate
Generally dry and hot with cool nights /mornings between June – October; short rains between November to mid December; long rains between March – May but seasons can vary. The coastal strip is hot and humid all year round .

Behavior
The protection of culture and wildlife is every ones concern. While on safari do not collect or buy bones, feathers, horns, shells, skins or teeth. As in much of Africa, it is considered a courtesy to and mark of respect to dress smartly and decently. Tanzanians especially at the coast and in Zanzibar are very sensitive to dressing. Always consult the guide on local habits and customs. It is always advisable to ask some one before taking his or her photograph. .
