The best time to visit Kenya and Mauritius

Mauritius - The weather in Mauritius is warm and pleasant the whole year. You can swim throughout the year in the Indian ocean due to the water temperature.

From November to April it is warmer; the water temperatures in the lagoons is pleasant.  The sea is particularly blue and the lagoons shimmer in a variety of blues and greens. However it's more sultry at this time of year and rain showers are common.

The peak travel season for Mauritius is in December and January when winter descends upon the northern hemisphere. These are the warmest months on Mauritius and the island is transformed into a sea of flowers. However, this is also the time when cyclones can occur.

Nevertheless it's quite full on Mauritius during these two months (January and February). Accommodation prices rise and, if you want to secure the accommodation of your choice, you should book at least 6 months in advance.

If you like the heat but want to avoid the peak period with the high prices, you should opt for February, March and April.

July and August are the coolest months. As winter is low season on Mauritius, it's emptier at this time and accommodation prices are lower.

Kenya - The best time to visit Kenya is during the dry seasons, from January to March and July through October. If you want to see the great migration at Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve, then the best time is from from July to October.

Even the though the prices are low between April, May and June, wildlife vieiwing in Kenya at this time is not great.  The roads are wet and muddy and annimals are hard to find.
