The most suitable African Safari Trip

The Best type of African Safaris and Vacations

Beach Holiday, Wildlife Safaris , Cultural Tours, Adventure trips

What type of African safari  holiday is best for you? Are you the type that is inclined towards meeting new people and interacting with the local culture? May be you just want to relax on the beach and rest? Is it so important that you see as many African wildlife as possible. Does your age and physical fitness level allow you to go trekking?  Figure out your exact desires for travel and communicate them to your travel agent of safari outfitter.

Guided Group Tour, Guided Private Tour, Independent Private Tour, Self-drive Tour

A guided group tour would appear cheaper but you always remember that that it is rigid and must follow a pre-arranged, agreed route and schedule. May be this is a small price to pay but may be not. An independent private tour offers more flexibility and choice. It may just cost a little bit more. Some destinations are safe and secure enough for a self-drive tour, others may be not.

Mode of Transportation on Safari – Road, Air, Ship

Getting into Africa will by all means be by air. Unless of course you are on one of the luxury cruises. Mode of transport within Africa is a matter of choice depending on your destination and budget. Transportation by road may, in some cases, not be so comfortable, especially over long distances. This is a general observation and will depend on your actual destination. Transport by air offers the most comfortable option where available.

Meal Plans: Bed and Breakfast, Half Board , Full-board, All Inclusive

Bed and breakfast meal plan generally suits the business traveler in cities and major towns. Half-board meal plans – that is breakfast and at least one more meal - suit the traveler who does not want to be tied down with meal time schedules. You do not have to choose between an interesting tour halfway done and your lunch. If your African travel involves a wildlife safari, we recommend a Full board meal plan. If only for this one reason: out in the African wilderness, you are not likely to have a variety of restaurants to choose your a la carte meals from. Allow the able lodges and camps to feed you.

All-inclusive meal plan option is good. Always take them wherever and whenever. Mostly offered by beach holiday destinations. You get to enjoy local alcoholic drinks without having to worry about the bills.

Itinerary Comfort:

Comfort does not necessary mean luxury! If traveling by road, get to learn – from your outfitter - about the distances between the locations in your itinerary. Granted, you are on a safari, you are probably out for adventure, but an 8-hour drive on a dusty, bumpy road is not worth paying for anywhere! A well designed itinerary should take care of comfort levels both at the hotels and between the hotels.
